The GMC App is being built right now. This page is published as a live build log: the brief, features and build partners are final, while adoption numbers and member feedback will be added once the app is live.
Grace Mission Church International is a growing church with an active ministry calendar. Its digital life, however, was spread across separate places — a website, social and video channels, and giving and communication tools that each lived on their own.
The brief for the GMC App is simple to state and demanding to build: connect members to their church from one place. Instead of chasing links across platforms, a member should be able to open a single app and find ministry teaching, read the Bible, give securely, and keep up with what is happening across every ministry.
The same gap existed on the staff side. Administrators, pastors and ministry leaders needed a secure place to run church operations that did not depend on shared spreadsheets or messaging groups. That work is handled by a separate Web Administration Portal, where access is limited to authorised church staff and ministry leaders. Because the portal holds member information, personal data in it is handled in line with POPIA — South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act.

The GMC App is being delivered by a joint team. NelX Technologies (Pty) Ltd and Zyma Systems (Pty) Ltd work from one shared specification, so design, development and rollout stay aligned across mobile and web.
Where the church already has good digital assets, the app reuses instead of replaces them. Ministry video stays hosted where it is published today and is surfaced inside the app, which keeps the rollout low-risk and means no team member has to learn a new publishing workflow.
NelX Technologies and Zyma Systems agreed to build the app together rather than hand the church between separate suppliers.
Member accounts, ministry content, Bible reading, secure giving and ministry management were defined as the core of the first release, alongside a staff web administration portal with POPIA-aligned handling of member information.
Core member and ministry workflows are being implemented across mobile and web right now.
Once the build is signed off, the app moves into testing and then release to the congregation. This page is updated at that point.
